Oregon Coast | Coastal Life on the Edge

Along the rugged Oregon shoreline, Hug Point was designed to create a profound connection between home, inhabitant, and landscape. Every room opens to views of the Pacific, allowing the rhythm of the tides, light, and weather to shape daily life.
Preserving the natural integrity of the site was a guiding principle. Mature trees were carefully protected to stabilize the soil, buffer coastal winds, and maintain privacy. The home sits gently within its forested surroundings, its climate-responsive design ensuring durability and low maintenance in a demanding coastal environment.
Inside, comfort and well-being were central to every decision. A heat recovery ventilation system and operable windows provide fresh air and natural cross-ventilation, while the well-sealed envelope prevents moisture and maintains healthy indoor air quality. Natural materials, warm light, and a wood-burning fireplace bring an enduring sense of calm and refuge. Expansive decks and patios invite the experience of coastal living — a front-row seat to the ever-changing interplay of light, sea, and sky.
