Willamette Valley Vineyards

Willamette Valley, Oregon | Best Tasting Room Experience, Sunset Magazine

As one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected wineries, Willamette Valley Vineyards sought a comprehensive transformation of its estate tasting experience. The project reimagines the original Carkin Arbuckle Costic Architects building through a thoughtful remodel and expansion that enhances hospitality, improves functionality, and deepens the visitor’s connection to place.

The design introduces a fully renewed estate tasting room, private club room, and an exclusive barrel room, each crafted to reflect the winery’s identity—casual elegance, regional authenticity, and a commitment to sustainability. A redesigned terrace and two LEED-certified overnight suites extend the experience outdoors, overlooking the rolling hills of the vineyard.

Inside, natural materials and warm textures reinforce the winery’s Northwest character. Newly integrated solar panels, water-saving fixtures, and a locally sourced small-plates program support the client’s goal of reducing their environmental footprint while elevating the visitor experience.

Acclaim

Following its transformation, Willamette Valley Vineyards earned the People’s Choice Award from the Oregon Chapter of the International Interior Design Association, recognition from Sunset magazine as the “Best Tasting Room Experience,” and the Top Travel Pick from Northwest Travel and Life. The project has been widely recognized for blending elevated hospitality with sustainable design, reaffirming the winery’s position as an iconic destination in the region.
